- Till date, a sum of Rs. 6,35,68,108/- has been released to the State of Andhra Pradesh under National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC).
About NAFCC
- It is a Central Sector Scheme which was set up in the year 2015-16.
- Objective: It was established to support adaptation activities in the States and Union Territories (UTs) of India that are vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.
- National Implementing Entity (NIE): National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
- NABARD was established in 1982, is a central regulating body for agriculture financing and rural section.
- Focus:
- The activities under this scheme are implemented in a project mode. The projects related to adaptation in sectors such as agriculture, animal husbandry, water, forestry, tourism etc. are eligible for funding under NAFCC.
- The projects under NAFCC prioritize the needs that build climate resilience in the areas identified under the SAPCC (State Action Plan on Climate Change) and the relevant Missions under NAPCC (National Action Plan on Climate Change).
- Achievements:
- NAFCC is implemented in project mode and to date, 30 projects are sanctioned in 27 States and UTs.
