The Crime and Criminal Tracking Network Systems (CCTNS)

 

  • It was conceptualized by the Ministry of Home Affairs in detailed consultation with all stakeholders and is being implemented as a “Mission Mode Project (MMP)” since 2009.
  •  It aims at creating a comprehensive and integrated system for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of policing through adopting of principle of e-Governance and creation of nationwide networking infrastructure for evolution of IT-enabled-state-of-the-art tracking system around ‘Investigation of crime and detection of criminals’.

 

 

 

 

HAL Tejas

 

  • Tejas is a single-engined, lightweight, highly agile, multi-role supersonic fighter.
  •  It has quadruplex digital fly-by-wire Flight Control System (FCS) with associated advanced flight control laws.
  • The aircraft with delta wing is designed for ‘air combat’ and ‘offensive air support’ with ‘reconnaissance’ and ‘anti-ship’ as its secondary roles.
  • It is designed and developed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) of the Indian Department of Defence, with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) as the prime industrial contractor.

 

Light Combat Aircrafts (LCA) ‘Tejas’ Mk-1A variant:

  • LCA Tejas Mk 1A is an advanced version of LCA Mk1.
  • It is a supersonic fighter at all altitudes for air combat which can carry a payload of 3,500 kg and it is best suited for offensive air support.
  • This aircraft is equipped with critical operational capabilities of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar, Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Missile, Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite and Air to Air Refuelling (AAR) would be a potent platform to meet the operational requirements of Indian Air Force, IAF.

 

 

 

 

 

‘Yudh Abhyas’

  • The 16th edition of Indo-U.S. joint military exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas’ will be held in Rajasthan between February 8 and 21.
  • The exercise near the India-Pakistan border aims at enhancing cooperation and interoperability between the two armies and will focus on counter-terrorism operations under the United Nations mandate.
