In News –Aero India 2021 event was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Defence.
- The five-day event has been reduced to three days, leaving out the two public days.
About Aero India-2021
- It is the 13th edition of Aero India being organised at Bengaluru from 03 – 05 February 2021.
- The international event is known as the world’s first-ever hybrid aero and defence show which will see several aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Army, Navy, Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL), and the Coast Guard .
- The highlight of the event would be the Chiefs of Air Staff Conclave and IOR Defence Minister’s conclave.
- This year’s event will mainly focus on India’s defence research and technology capabilities with public sector undertakings participating in full strength.
Significance
- It will help in bringing enormous global engagement with the Indian defence industry, in the form of partnerships and investments.
Aero India
- Aero India is a biennial international military and civil airshow.
- It provides a unique opportunity for the exchange of information, ideas and new developments in the aviation industry.
- In 2019, it was organised by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) and in 2021, it will be organised by the Defence Exhibition Organisation.
- The logo for Aero India is inspired by the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)
About Defence Exhibition Organisation:
- DEO is an autonomous organisation of the Indian Government established in 1981, to promote the export potential of the Indian defence industry.
- It is responsible for organising international exhibitions such as DefExpo and Indian participation at overseas exhibitions.
