Tribal Health Collaborative ‘Anamaya’

  • It is a multi-stakeholder initiative launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
  • It will converge various government efforts to enhance the health and nutrition status of the tribal communities.
  • It envisions to build a sustainable, high-performing health ecosystem to improve the health of tribal populations and will play a crucial role in achieving the ultimate goal of ‘Health for All‘.
  • The Ministry will undertake several activities such as:
    • Setting up of the National Council on Tribal Health to drive policy initiatives in tribal health.
    • Establishment of a Health Cell to closely monitor healthcare delivery in the tribal areas, devising mechanisms to implement the Tribal Health Action Plan, etc.
  • Tribal population still lacks access to health facilities and health care providers due to cultural and language differences, poor treatment-seeking behaviour, shortage of human resources, difficult terrain, etc.

Lab On Wheel

  • It is a customised bus with computers, televisions, 3D and normal printers, cameras, laptop, etc. It is Wi-Fi enabled, with 100% power back up and is fully air-conditioned.
  • It is part of Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) ‘Education Reaches You’ scheme.
  • Students of DTU will travel in it across Delhi to teach government school students and underprivileged children.
  • It will give educational lectures, tutorials and teach school students in the domains of maths, science and advanced technology.

Cyber Yuan

  • China is turning its legal tender into computer code as digital currency, which will be regulated by its central bank, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC).
  • It is designed to replace cash in circulation and not money deposited for long-term in bank accounts.
  • It will negate the anonymity for the user and will be a legal tender.
  • Unlike cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, the cyber yuan will not use blockchain, distributed ledger technology which allows transactions to be validated without the need for banks.
  • Significance for China
    • Track spending in real time.
    • Help in Chinese aim of internationalising its currency and easier to encourage users in other countries to use it.
    • Provide tools to monitor both the economy and the people.

Clean Ganga Fund

  • It was formed in 2014 for cleaning up of the Ganga, setting up waste treatment plants and conservation of biotic diversity of the river.
  • It began as an initiative to harness the enthusiasm of people for Ganga and to bring them closer to the Ganga and inculcate a sense of ownership.
  • It is envisioned as a source of funds from private companies, individuals and institutions.
  •  It aims to utilise the collection for various activities under the ‘Namami Gange’ programme for cleaning the holy river.

  • The donation would be recognized more than resource mobilization and this fund will help bring innovation and technological know-how and connect you with this national cause.

About Namami Gange Programme:

  • It is an umbrella programme that integrates previous and currently ongoing initiatives by enhancing efficiency, extracting synergies and supplementing them with more comprehensive & better-coordinated interventions.
  • It is implemented by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), and State Programme Management Groups in the states.
    •  NMCG is the implementation wing of the National Ganga Council established in 2016 which replaced the National Ganga River Basin Authority (NRGBA).
  • It works under the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.

The main pillars of the programme are:

  • Sewerage Treatment Infrastructure & Industrial Effluent Monitoring.
  • River-Front Development & River-Surface Cleaning
  • Bio-Diversity & Afforestation
  • Public Awareness

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur

  • He was born in 1621 in the holy city of Amritsar in a house known as Guru ke Mahal.
  • He was the fifth and the youngest son of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and Mata Nanki Ji. His childhood name was Tyag Mal.
  • He was the ninth Sikh Guru.
  • He had resisted forced conversions of non-Muslims to Islam during Aurangzeb’s rule
    • He was publicly killed in 1675 on the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Delhi
  • Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in Delhi are the sites of his execution and cremation.

Contributions

  • He contributed many hymns to the Guru Granth Sahib including the Saloks, or couplets.
  • He is known to have travelled extensively to preach the teachings of Nanak.
  • He is remembered for his selfless service to people.
  • He had set up community kitchens and wells for the local people wherever he went.
  • Anandpur Sahib, the famous holy city and a global tourist attraction in the foothills of the Himalayas, was founded by Guru Tegh Bahadur

Madhu Kranti Portal

  • The Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister launched the Madhukranti portal.
  • This portal developed for online registration to achieve a traceability source of Honey and other beehive products on a digital platform.
  • This will also help in checking the quality and source of adulteration of honey.
  • It is an initiative of the National Bee Board under the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission.
  • An MoU between National Bee Board and Indian Bank was signed for this project.
