India Aadi Mahotsav

  • Organised by: TRIFED
  • Aim: to boost the development of marketing of tribal products and enhance the tribal income

Dekho Apna Desh Campaign

  • Launched by Ministry of Tourism to boost domestic tourism
  • Financial incentive to tourists for travelling to 15 different tourist
  • For this tourists need to take an online pledge and later upload their pics from different locations.

National Safety Council

  • Premier, non-profit, self-financing and tripartite apex body at the national level in India
  • autonomous body set up by the Ministry of Labour and Employment in 1965 to generate
  • Aim: To develop and sustain a voluntary movement on Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) at the national level.
  • Registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and subsequently, as a Public Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.
  • Organises Road safety week, Safety Day, Fire Service Week, World Environment Day in India

African Swine Fever Virus

  • In News: Virus has become more deadly after mutation in CD2v gene and an adjacent 8CR gene
  • large, double-stranded DNA virus in the Asfarviridae family
  • Symptoms: highly contagious hemorrhagic fever with high mortality rates in domestic pigs;
    • some isolates can cause death of animals as quickly as a week after infection
    • Doesn’t affect Humans

Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) Scheme

  • Haryana Chief launched a unique identity card called Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP)  through which the state government aims to monitor each of the approximately 54 lakh families living across the state.
  • Under this, each family will be considered a single unit and allotted an 8-digit unique identification number.
  • The PPP, mathematically, is an integral number of Aadhaar.
  • While Aadhaar represents an individual as a unit, a PPP represents a family as a unit. Most of our government schemes are structured around the family. It is not structured around an individual.

One District One Product Scheme

  • The initiative is operationally merged with ‘Districts as Export Hub’ which is being implemented by DGFT, Department of Commerce, with Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) as a major stakeholder.      
  • The objective is to convert each District of the country into an Export Hub by identifying products with export potential in the District.
  • It fuels economic growth, generates employment and rural entrepreneurship moving towards the goal of AtmaNirbhar Bharat.

Pandit Bhimsen Joshi

  • He was a member of the Kirana Gharana and renowned for the khayal form of singing, as well as for his popular renditions of devotional music (bhajans and abhangs).
  • He was honoured with Bharat Ratna in 2009 .
  • He always encouraged new artistes through Sawai Gandharva Music Festival.
  • The prestigious Akashvani Music Festival will be named after Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. 

    

 

Orobanche

 

  • It is known as the broomrapes, is a large genus of parasitic, herbaceous plants that are mainly found in the Northern Hemisphere.
  • It is a serious hidden parasitic weed in mustard causing severe yield loss to the extent of up to 50% and there are no absolute control measures developed so far.

 

Prosopis Juliflora

  • It is a shrub or small tree in the family Fabaceae commonly known as Seemai Karuvelam.
  • It is native to Mexico, South America and the Caribbean.
  •  It is an exotic tree, is one of the top invaders in India.
